I was born in Oceana County, Michigan, the Asparagus Capital of the World.
My wife, Abby Humphrey, is an acupuncturist and a bellydancer. We have three daughters: Kaeli Rose, SK Class of 2016, who was born in 2002; Evie, Class of 2020, who came along in 2006; and Roxanne, Class of 2023, born in the spring of 2009.
My doctorate from the University of Michigan is in Educational Foundations and Policy.
I’ve taught in New England, California, Colorado, Kenya, and an assortment of other locales. I’ve also served as an administrator, including three years as a Head of School. I’ve taught history, theater, soccer, literature, education, psychology, project planning, and . . . . . well, whatever’s next.
